The laundress - Paul-Désiré Trouillebert (1829 – 1900)

Paul-Désiré Trouillebert is a well known landscape painter.
Close to Corot, in terms of style as well as personal relationship.
He travelled the length and breadth of France (Brittany, the Loire, the banks of the Seine), and was part of the "plein air" movement.
In our painting, the artist depicts one of his favorite subjects, a laundress beside a stream, next to tall trees.
