Pair of Marseille earthenware bouquetières, marked and dated 1743.

Pair of curved half-moon Marseille earthenware bouquetières with blue monochrome decoration in the center of a religious scene: the Annunciation with Mary on the right, the angel Gabriel on the left raising his finger towards the Holy Spirit in the center; on either side, floral scrolls, lambrequins under the body and a leaf motif interspersed with chevrons on the foot and neck. Marked on the back "Sebastien Carbonel 1743".
Manufacture of Joseph Fauchier, 1743, 18th century.
Sebastien Carbonel, earthenware maker and collaborator of Joseph Fauchier at the factory.
Cf. a group in the round representing the Virgin and Child preserved in the Peypin parish church, inscribed "Sebastien Carbonel et Joseph Fauchier". Height: 15.5 cm; width: 18.5 cm and depth: 10.5 cm.
Restorations to the top movement for both and a piece of the piedouche taken back for one.
Provenance: Parisian estate of Madame M.
