Castelli earthenware plate with polychrome decoration of a mythological scene depicting charity* in the form of a young woman protecting two children, one of whom is warming himself over a brazier. On either side of the young woman, two angels blowing. On the wing, a green mascaron head at the top and a blue winged head at the bottom, surrounded by loves hanging from baroque cartouches. Also on the left and right of the wing are two fauns carrying a basket of fruit and flowers.
Attributed to the painter Carlo Antonio Grue (1655-1723), Gentili workshop circa 1685-1695, late 17th century.
Diameter: 18 cm.
A small chip visible on the rim at 5 o'clock.
