Empire mantel clock with putto on a chariot

An exceptional gilt bronze mantel clock with its key depicting a winged putto in an antique chariot pulled by two doves resting on a platform adorned with water leaves. The vase containing the white enamelled dial, with Roman numerals for hours and Arabic for minutes, finely chiselled with small pearls, palmettes and lattice, is signed " Marie Prevost fils à Toulouse". It is flanked by two admirably chiselled storks holding flowery garlands and resting on a base decorated with water leaves. A bow, arrows and two foliated branches heighten the frontal part of the base resting on four flattened ball feet. Original movement in working condition.
