Japan, hinoki kazaridana , Meiji period

Japanese display cabinet, called kazaridana. It is made of cedar (hinoki) and comes from the Suga region. The magnificent grain of the wood has been enhanced by a skilful polishing.
It opens with two doors decorated with a lacquer representing blossoming prunus.
