Oil on canvas from the early 20th century, depicting a young woman lying in the elegant décor of a lake house. Signed at bottom right L. Ridel: Louis Marie Joseph Ridel (Vannes 1866 / Paris1937) symbolist painter, sculptor and carver, pupil of Gustave Moreau at the School of Fine Arts with Matisse, Camoin, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes Français from 1893 to 1935, responding to state commissions, his works are exhibited in many museums both in France and abroad. Painting in very good state of presentation (a small restoration appears at the back of the canvas, the frame in lase and gilded wood measures 85.5 cm x 70.5 cm.
