"Earth's attraction" by Paul Moreau-Vauthier (1871/1936)

Bronze group with a nuanced brown patina, produced at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1910) by Paul Moreau Vauthier. Allegorical representation in the guise of a man riding a winged horse (Pegasus) held by a female creature from the globe, symbol of the earthly attraction (homage to the pioneers of aviation) justified by the inscription on the base: The man by the aid of his aeroplane overcomes the attraction of the earth. Brand and stamp of the founder Susse brothers Paris, marble base not included in the dimensions indicated, beautiful state of presentation.
Paul Moreau-Vauthier was born in Paris in 1871, a sculptor of genre figures, allegories, known for his monument to the victims of the revolutions against the wall of the Père-Lachaise cemetery.
