Ivory okimono from the Tokyo School depicting a mother standing elegantly dressed in a formal long-sleeved kimono with a child at her feet.
The woman is immortalized as she completes her dress, carefully positioning the part of the pillow around her bust.
At his mother's feet, a playful child attracts the attention of her mother who is busy preparing for her.
This okimono is signed under the base “Yoshida Doraku”. The artist is recorded in the Shoto Museum of Art, Exhibition Catalogue, The History of Ivory Carvings, Tokyo, 1996, as a highly valuable ivory carver.
