Marseille earthenware dish, Veuve Perrin factory 18th century

This large and handsome oblong dish is made of Marseille earthenware by the Veuve Perrin factory. The polychrome central decoration depicts a fountain with several figures on a landscaped background. The lobed-edge wing is decorated with combed lines and shells, and painted with fillets and florets. The colors, typical of the widow Perrin's Marseilles production, are yellow, purple, manganese and a soft green. There are no marks on the reverse.

In generally good condition, this dish has a crack at the top.
