David Teniers II, known as the young, born in Antwerp on December 15, 1610 and died in Brussels on April 25, 1690, was a Flemish painter, engraver, draughtsman, miniaturist and copyist.
He was an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output. He is an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history, genre, landscape, portraiture and still life. He is best known as the leading genre painter of his time. Teniers is particularly known for developing the peasant genre, tavern scenes, images of art collections and scenes with alchemists.
