Georges RECIPON & Emile MULLER - - Art Nouveau Ceramic Mermaid

Georges RECIPON (1860-1920) & Emile MULLER (1823-1889)
Georges Recipon, French painter and sculptor, whose most famous creations are the "Nymphs of the Seine" and the "Nymphs of the Neva" featured in the keys to the Alexandre-III bridge in Paris (1900) and the two quadrigas in the Grand Palais in Paris (1900).
In 1854, Émile Muller founded the Grande Tuilerie company in Ivry-sur-Seine, specialising in ceramic products for construction and industry, as well as artistic ceramics.
Here we present an important ornamental flare in glazed ceramic representing the figure of Eurynome holding a Leviathan. The only example known to date.
Signed lower right "RECIPON" and "E. MULLER", stamped inside "EMILE MULLER IVRY PARIS".
