Inro – An early three-case black lacquer piece decorated this on one side a cat rests on the ground near a bamboo trellis with bamboo and flowers, on the other a bird perches on the handle of a ladle lying in a water basin, some elements inlaid in shell. The cord runners are decorated with a diaper pattern, the ends with lacquer imitations of metal mounts Unsigned. Japan Edo, 17th century.
