Tomb Chest Of Drawers Stamped By François Fleury, Louis XV Period

Tomb-shaped chest of drawers in satin wood and amaranth on the front and in plum wood on the sides.

It opens with 5 drawers in 3 rows, the central drawer of the upper row is blocked by a small peg allowing it to be "secret".

Adorned with a very beautiful decoration of chiseled bronzes and gold varnish, it is topped with beige marble veined with gray and white.

It is stamped by master cabinetmaker François Fleury and the Jurande JME hallmark.

Work from the Louis XV period around 1745/1750.

Key and rear locks; note a small lack under the marble on the left side. (visible in photo No. 2)

Length: 131.5 cm.
Depth: 66.5 cm.
Height: 86.5 cm.

François Fleury worked on rue Traversière in Paris where he apparently took over his brother Adrien's workshop and produced furniture until the start of the reign of Louis XVI. His stamp was found on good quality Louis XV furniture, with simple lines, and richly decorated with bronze.
