Coq Chantecler passe boules in polychrome pressed cardboard

Beautiful passe boules in pressed cardboard or polychrome boiled cardboard depicting a Rooster with spread wings from Edmond Rostand's famous 1910 play "Chantecler".
Chantecler was first performed on February 7, 1910 at the Porte Saint Martin theater in Paris.

"Over a barnyard reigns a rooster, Chantecler, so convinced of his importance that he imagines, by his crowing, to make the sun rise."

Provenance "Au Nain Bleu" store.
The story of Le Nain Bleu began in Paris in 1836. Initially located at 27 boulevard des Capucines, Au Nain Bleu quickly established itself as a benchmark in the toy world.
