The quality of the Maison Brazet fabrics enhances the sculpted decoration of this pair of Louis XV armchairs. The treatment of the rocaille ornaments, in particular the pomegranates and acanthus scrolls, evokes the manner of René Cresson, known as Cresson l'Aîné, received as Master in 1738.
